Black is Tech Conference is a symposium where black and LatinX professionals and admirers can connect, share, and experience the world of technology together. This is a platform which focuses on inclusion and diversity within the tech industry as well as professional and business development. The upcoming 2020 version of the conference will be virtual, making the convention accessible to an even larger audience of technology enthusiasts than the previous year.

While creating the Black is Tech identity, I wanted to really focus on the structural and binary elements that come to mind when one thinks about technology. Actual code segments from the Black is Tech Conference website can be found within the design, suggesting a sense of depth and movement but also directly connecting to the conference’s ethos. By utilizing a color palette that is energetic and bold as well as creating a strong, unavoidable logo, I wanted to focus on the space black and minority folks deserve within, and the impact they bring to, the technology sphere.
