Interactive Poster

How could I find a way to create an interaction between a viewer and the Skull and Crossbones icon? That was my main concern when creating this piece. I first researched the sign’s origins and how the symbol’s meaning had evolved within many cultures over time. I was particularly interested in its prevalence within Pirate lore and finding out how many of the stories we grew up hearing were true. I created the interactivity of this work by having an illustrated GIF appear onto a viewer’s screen when they scanned the physical or digital poster with the free Artivive mobile app.
